WEEK 1 Meeting of the Mayans

Party in Paradise Week

Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker Belize

FRIDAY JANUARY 24 - SATURDAY FEBRUARY 1,2025

Getting there…

You'll only need to book your round trip flight to Belize City International (BZE) and we'll take care of the rest. All major US carriers fly here and most flights arrive within a few hours of each other. BZE is a small airport and easy to navigate. You'll be guided to the domestic waiting area where you can grab a drink or meal while you wait for your hop flight.

Your round trip hop flight from BZE to Ambergris Caye (San Pedro-SPR) is included in the package and we will take care of booking this for you. It includes one check bag and one carry on. You'll take the short 15 minute hop over to the beautiful island of Ambergris Caye and we will be there waiting on your arrival.

The most common way to get around in San Pedro is with a golf cart. You will want to have one or share one with friends as many of our locations are not walkable. In the past, we have had some couples decide to split a cart with friends. We have made this and add-on option so you can decide for yourself, just let us know who’s sharing on your order form.

The first week of our event is “the party” week. We feature more of the modern day artists from the Trop Rock genre and others. This week is geared more towards the party crowd.

Week two is the “Parrothead Roots” week where we bring back the artists who helped get the whole thing started and an attempt to recreate some of the best memories from the best events from days gone by.

Each of the first two weeks will be truly unique as two different stand alone events. Of course week two will also contain a lot of partying, but at a slightly slower pace than week one.

Choose your favorite or join us for both weeks and have the music vacation of a lifetime!

Mayan Camp Collection

Due to the overwhelming response of the event this year, we are expanding our accommodations to provide more options for our guests. We know that many of our attendees also travel with groups of friends and so we’ve selected several properties which have availability for varying numbers of rooms and bedrooms and are perfect overflow locations that still put you in the heart of everything and measure up to the quality you’ve come to expect from our event. All of our “Mayan Camp” collection properties are conveniently located within the festival event areas or at least conveniently located within a reasonable golf cart ride to the host hotel. All guests staying at any of our hotels will receive VIP status which comes with access to the host hotel (Sunbreeze) grounds, pool and the shows at the Sunbreeze stage as well as VIP only events.

Mayan Camp #1- Sunbreeze Suites

10 One Bedroom Suites Total Available

Sunbreeze Suites is the sister property to our host hotel. It is located approximately a ten minute easy walk up the beach (five minutes by golf cart). This boutique property is in a great location in the heart of it all, with restaurants and shopping just steps away. It features all one-bedroom suites with a separate living room area/dining area and full kitchens. There is a restaurant and small bar on site as well as a nice plunge pool. The property has a total of 20 rooms of which our group takes over half. Sunbreeze Suites is a wonderful location within walking distance of the host hotel and also many of our music venues and camps just to the north.

Prices starting at $1300 per person!

Mayan Camp #2- Isla Bonita Yacht Club

15 One Bedroom Suites Total Available

Isla Bonita Yacht Club is a gorgeous property located about a ten minute golf cart ride south of the host hotel. We chose this property because, although it is a bit farther south, it is a beautiful location and a lot slower paced than some of the other camps. Many of the units here are privately owned and do not rent, so although there are around 40 rooms, our group will take over much of the rental units and set the tone. Though they do not have an onsite restaurant/bar, they have a wonderful pool area and all of the units are up to par with what our guests have come to expect. Plus as a VIP guest, you are welcome to come hang at the host hotel pool and restaurant anytime with the group. The property is located close to great eateries and each room has a separate bedroom, living room and full kitchen. You can mix your own drinks!

Prices starting at $1175 per person!

19 King & Queen Rooms Total

Corona Del Mar is a perfect spot for friends or if you’re traveling in a group. This is our “bargain” choice for the collection but that doesn’t mean it’s a dive. Quite the opposite…for the price, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at all that this property offers. A short ten minute golf cart ride south of the host hotel, Corona Del Mar features a mix of king and double queen rooms with varying views of the private pool, hotel grounds and the beach. There is an on site restaurant and bar and the property is clean and well kept. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need and the location is convenient. This hotel is also located next door to Isla Bonita so you’ll know your neighbors! You’ll have VIP access to the host hotel grounds and pool if you want a change of scenery at any point. It is a great spot that’ll save you some money and we’re certain you’ll love the charm!

Prices starting at $1100 per person!

Mayan Camp #3- Corona Del Mar

Mayan Camp #4- Blue Tang Inn

7 One Bedroom Units Total

Blue Tang has a total of seven one bedroom suites which include a living area and kitchen. This property is a perfect location in the heart of the festival, and though they do not have an onsite restaurant/bar, they do include continental breakfast and have a beautiful private pool area. Blue Tang is also only steps from Palapa Bar and many other dining options and bars along the beach strip where many of our music shows will take place. It is about a ten minute golf cart ride from the host hotel. With only seven suites, it’s a great spot to book with your friends!

Prices starting at $1325 per person!

Mayan Camp #5- Diamante

10 Two Bedroom Full Condominiums Total Available

Diamante is a stunning property featuring thoughtfully designed 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suites that redefines indulgence. Each suite offers a fully equipped kitchen, inviting dining area, and a spacious living room for a homely feel in a picturesque setting. Step outside onto your private balcony to immerse yourself in breathtaking ocean views. This property is located directly next door to the host hotel and also features a large pool, sundeck and hot tub. Diamante is most certainly on the higher end of our collection, but is perfect for two couples or groups of friends to share the cost and still be right in the heart of the action.

Prices starting at $1510 per person!

You’ll have your first few hours to relax and get into vacation mode after the long travel day. Hit the pool or hit the on site restaurant for a bite and a welcome drink and get ready for Friday night's pre-party at the Sunbreeze stage. This night’s “low key” party will feature all of our songwriters “in the round” and is exclusively for our VIP and festival pass holders only.

Saturday January 25- Afternoon Shows, Cart Decorating & Official Kickoff Extravaganza

We get things officially started Saturday afternoon with music music music! You’ll have your pick of four daytime solo performances with each of our artists at several venues in town all afternoon, or you can just park it up at the hotel pool and do nothing all day…it’s your vacation so you decide! All daytime shows are open to all but with reserved seating for VIP and festival pass holders.

For those of you who would like to add to the fun, we'll be dressing up our carts on Saturday afternoon so bring all the fun stuff you'd like!

Saturday night we officially kick things off and everybody’s invited! Join your host Mike Nash and all of the artists on the event with a fun surprise twist. Get ready to get your week started off with the party to end all parties!

Sunday January 26- Free Day & El Wencho Welcome Party at Castaway’s Stage

Sunday is a perfect day to go exploring and start getting acquainted with the island! You might also decide to book a snorkel or diving trip or other excursion (available on site), or just lay by the pool sipping umbrella drinks all day listening to the steel drums sounds of a local artist. It's your vacation, you get to decide!

Sunday evening we will take the golf carts up north to Castaway’s and enjoy a night of fun with our Montanan friends El Wencho and their huge crew of fun Montana folks. This is a show you just have to see to believe…El Wencho will quickly be one of your favorite artists and Castaway’s can certainly accommodate the crowd. This show will be open to VIP and festival pass holders only.

Monday January 27- Field Trip to Happy Island Bar at Secret Beach

Monday we'll load the carts up with beer and bathing suits and spend the day chilling in knee deep water in paradise at our host bar Happy Island! Secret Beach is one of the most beautiful hidden gems on the island and it makes for an incredible day of doing absolutely nothing!

We’ll feature one of our artists for the afternoon and return to the resort Monday evening for a free night in town.

Tuesday January 28- Daytime Shows and Evening Showcase

Tuesday you’ll have your pick of four daytime solo performances with each of our artists at several venues in town all afternoon, or you can just park it up at the hotel pool and do nothing all day…it’s your vacation so you decide! All daytime shows are open to all but with reserved seating for VIP and festival pass holders.

Tuesday night will be a special performance and Belizean BBQ by Mike Nash for our VIP’s only. Our other festival goers will have options to support some of our other artists and venues in town with several sanctioned shows to choose from and reserved seating for all festival pass holders (and VIP’s who choose not to attend the cookout)

Wednesday January 29- Take a vacation from your vacation day!

Wednesday is completely yours! Check out that restaurant you’ve been hearing about, book a dive/snorkel or fishing trip, head back to spend the day at one of your favorite spots, head to Tranquility Bay for the day…there is so much to do and see on the island outside of our festival that we want to give you an entire day and night to do what you want to do!

Thursday January 30- Group Field Trip to Caye Caulker & Mike Nash Show

Now that you'll have a good feel for what Ambergris Caye and San Pedro are all about, it's time to go island hopping! We'll head out Thursday late morning by water taxi (private pick up from Sunbreeze dock) to visit San Pedro's much more laid back neighbour island of Caye Caulker! Picture a much slower vibe than San Pedro. Very few golf carts here...in fact, you can walk the entire 5 blocks long by 2 blocks wide island in a few minutes; but there's still plenty to do here on our day trip. You can hand feed the tarpon, search for sea horses at the sea horse preserve and even hand feed stingray's; or just park up at "The Lazy Lizard” and drink the day away with music by Mike Nash and other artists all afternoon! Grab a fresh grilled lobster, get in some souvenir shopping, or just drink the day away.

Thursday night we will offer a VIP and festival pass holder only performance at the Sunbreeze stage or you’ll have a few options in town for shows to attend if you wish.

Friday January 31- Pool Day & Grand Finale Party

Friday you’ll spend your final afternoon chillaxing in the pool and enjoying a much needed final day of rest. VIP’s are welcome to join us at the host hotel grounds for a laid back “steel pan afternoon” with a local artist, or you’re free to squeeze in a last visit to your favorite spot for the day!

Friday late afternoon we will head up to Castaway's for a grand finale party as Mike Nash hosts a very special "5 O’clock Somewhere- an unplugged tribute to Jimmy Buffett” with all of the artists and musicians. This will be a very special one-off performance and a perfect ending to a perfect week.

Friday night’s performance at Castaway’s is open to VIP and festival pass holders only.

Saturday February 1: End of week 1 and start of week 2

Returning home: If you'll be leaving us to return home, you will be taking your hop flight from San Pedro Saturday (included) and returning back to BZE airport in time for your US bound flight. Most US flights don't leave until at least 1pm or later, so you'll have plenty of time to grab lunch or a few more vacation drinks at the airport. We will need your itinerary at a later date.

Staying over for week 2: If one week in San Pedro just wasn't enough for you and you have any liver left, we welcome you to stay with us for week 2 (Parrothead Roots week) and do it all again with a new group of friends! Saturday will be the rollover day from week 1 to week 2 groups so you can extend your vacation and spend the day in the pool greeting the new week 2 guests with us or choose this day for an excursion!

please email us at Sales@Tropications.com with any questions

FESTIVAL PASSES- coming soon!

If you have your own accommodations and you would like to join us for all the music and group activities this pass is for you! Due to space limitations at most of the venues, all evening shows will be closed to the public as we have a limited number of space and seating. With this pass, you will be guaranteed entry and a seat. Some of the daytime shows are open to all, but as a festival pass holder you will have guaranteed seating reserved at all of the venues so you can choose the shows you wish to attend. The only exception for the festival pass are the two VIP only shows (Friday night January 24th and the VIP cookout with Mike Nash on Tuesday night) --there will be other show options on these nights for you to choose from as a festival pass holder.

Please note: this pass does not include the ferry ticket to Caye Caulker which can be purchased on site in San Pedro so you can join us for Thursday’s trip. We will direct you where to go to purchase this once we are on island and they run about $35 US round trip per person.

THINGS TO BRING

PACK LIGHT: It's 85 degrees and sunny just about every day of the year in these destinations! You don't need to bring nearly as much as you think. We recommend packing as light as possible (a smaller suitcase is even better) not only for ease of carrying your luggage around (especially for the WEEK 3 & 4 folks as we are moving around quite a bit) but it will also leave room to take home souvenirs. There are cheap laundry services at every location as well if you have the need.

SNACKS: If you're like me and love your American snacks, I recommend packing them in your suitcase or carry on (yes you can bring food on to a plane, just not liquids). They have grocery stores in these countries(not exactly like a Wal Mart mind you) but most American things are tourist priced accordingly as the locals don't eat what we eat. Also I like to bring my own coffee just cause I'm a coffee snob like that....feel free to bring anything you think you can't live without for a week. There are plenty of food trucks, restaurants and grocery stores around with pretty much the same selection you'll find back home.

BUG SPRAY: It's expensive here for a reason. Bring it...you'll thank me on a breezeless day!

(by the way, it's better if it has deet in it)

SUNSCREEN: (see bug spray above..bring it!)

SLEEP: Eye blinders can be a big plus when traveling to these destinations. The sun goes down at 6pm and comes up at 6am every day of the year and some of the rooms don't have much in the way of black out drapes. You'll thank me!

LIQUOR: Duty Free on your way is is the cheapest place you'll find top shelf brands. We personally drink the local rum and vodka as well as beers and rum, and they are cheap. If you drink anything else you'll want to hit duty free on the way in and bring it as it can be pricey in town at these places.

BACKPACK COOLER OR SMALL COLLAPSIBLE COOLER YOU CAN FIT IN YOUR SUITCASE: This one pretty much explains itself!

MONEY: The exchange rate is pinned at 2 Belizean dollars for 1 US for cash and Costa Rica is around 550:1 (don't get too excited though, they price things accordingly). There isn't much need to exchange your US dollars as they are accepted right along side of the local currency everywhere we will go. They might give you change in the local currency, and of course they won't always be able to break a hundred, so I'd recommend bringing smaller bills if you're going the cash route. $20's and below are fine. US credit cards are accepted nearly everywhere (with the exception of street vendors and some souvenir shops) but keep in mind you'll want to bring cash for tips and things you cannot buy with credit card. You can usually add a tip to the credit card bill as well but it's always good to have a cash on hand. Do check your bill before tipping though as many bars and restaurants will add a 10% gratuity automatically which is a fair amount for this trip. Don't forget to make sure you have "no foreign transaction fees" on the card you'll be using and call to let your cc company know you'll be traveling abroad. Credit cards in Belize actually run a bit less than 2:1 but it's not a big issue unless you're making a large purchase. Roatan and the other countries run concurrently with the daily exchange rate at the bank.

SNORKEL GEAR: If you've got room, feel free to bring it. You can of course rent it at the places we go, but if you have your own you can just jump in the water and swim out a bit to the reef...it's not that far from shore.

WATER SHOES/HIKING GEAR: You will want to bring comfortable walking shoes for our group excursions and Maya ruins exploring. Bring water shoes if you plan to zip-line and river raft. For the Costa Rica week, these are a must.

STAYING CONNECTED: The arrival airports do have free wi-fi (though it can be spotty) so you shouldn't need to turn your phone off of airplane mode the entire trip unless you just want to. Most US carriers will work in all of the countries we will visit (Verizon for $10, AT&T and T-mobile are free) but we've found we rarely need the actual phone and there's free high speed wi-fi everywhere so (as much as it sucks not to take off that electronic leash) you won't have to worry about being un-connected very often.

In order to hold the rates at today’s prices, the hotels will retain a 10% non-refundable fee on any cancellations. 90% refund on cancellations will be available until October 1, 2024, After this date, we cannot guarantee any refunds but we will do our best to help you resell your package.

If you anticipate any issues, we strongly recommend purchasing inexpensive travel insurance from an independent source.
