Getting there…
You'll only need to book your round trip flight to Belize City International (BZE) and we'll take care of the rest. All major US carriers fly here and most flights arrive within a few hours of each other. BZE is a small airport and easy to navigate. You'll be guided to the domestic waiting area where you can grab a drink or meal while you wait for your hop flight.
Your round trip hop flight from BZE to Ambergris Caye (San Pedro-SPR) is included in the package and we will take care of booking this for you. It includes one check bag and one carry on. You'll take the short 15 minute hop over to the beautiful island of Ambergris Caye and we will be there waiting on your arrival.
The most common way to get around in San Pedro is with a golf cart. You will want to have one or share one with friends as many of our locations are not walkable. In the past, we have had some couples decide to split a cart with friends. We have made this and add-on option so you can decide for yourself, just let us know who’s sharing on your order form.
The first week of our event is the “Trop Rock Party” week. We feature more of the modern day artists from the Trop Rock genre and others. This week is geared more towards the party crowd.
Week two is the “Parrothead Afterparty” week where we bring back the artists who helped get the whole thing started and an attempt to recreate some of the best memories from the best events from days gone by…and of course, “keep the party going” as instructed!
Each of the first two weeks will be truly unique as two different stand alone events. Of course week two will also contain a lot of partying, but at a slightly slower pace than week one.

WEEK 2 MOTM ITINERARY
Saturday January 31- Arrival Day and The Grand Opening of the Loyal Order of the Tiki Bar Pirates
After arriving at San Pedro airport (hop flight included), we will have stewards to handle your luggage to the resort directly across the street from the airport where we’ll get you checked in and up to speed and signed in for golf carts for the folks staying at the satellite hotels. You’ll have your first few hours to relax and get into vacation mode after the long travel day. Hit the pool or hit the on site restaurant for a bite and get your out your craziest Parrothead gear for Saturday night's grand kickoff party with a full band of our American artists mixed with our local Belizean artists for an unforgettable and one of a kind tribute show to the man himself, Jimmy Buffett!
6pm- San Pedro High School Marching Band Performance to kick off the show (our charity)
7-9:30pm- We kickoff Parrothead Afterparty week Saturday night with a BOOM; a tribute to the music and memory of the man who brought us all together in the first place, Jimmy Buffett! Mike Nash hosts "Thank God The Tiki Bar Is Open” with all of the week two artists and musicians (and even some week one stowaway’s) and some local Belizean band members as you dance the night away in true Parrothead party fashion! Dust off your old feathers and coconut bras cause this night is a Parrothead party for the ages and we’re setting the tone for this fun filled week of reliving old memories and making lots of new ones right off the bat!

Sunday February 1- The Lighthouse Sessions, Cart Decorating & Songwriters in the Round
11am-2pm- Sunday you’ll spend your first day of vacation chillaxing in the pool and grounds of our host hotel, the Sunbreeze, for a very special day of music and memories. For those of us who miss “the old lighthouse days” from Key West, we are attempting to recreate that vibe at the Sunbreeze Hotel Stage and we’ve got Kelly McGuire himself to bring it all together! Kelly is “the King of the Island” and is the reason we found Belize in the first place! In 2018 Kelly brought Mike and Melissa to the island for the first time and none of us had any clue back then that first visit would turn into this.…sounds similar to a story I’ve heard about a couple of guys named Jerry Jeff Walker and Jimmy Buffett and another island somewhere? Who knows what might happen on this very special afternoon? Afterall, the JJW crowd will be in town, and if we can capture even a portion of the vibe from the old lighthouse days, this is guaranteed to be one of the most talked about events within an event in the entire Trop Rock and Parrothead world! 4pm- It’s a Rag Top Day! For those of you who would like to add to the fun, we'll be dressing up our carts and doing a little parade on Sunday afternoon so bring all the fun stuff you'd like!
6-9pm - Sunday night Mike Nash will host all the Songwriter’s for an “in the round” show at the Sunbreeze Bluewater Stage. In keeping with our “Parrothead Afterparty” theme, we are bringing back some of the founding artists from the genre for a magical night of reliving some of the blurriest Parrothead memories from days gone by. We’ve already lined up Parrothead legend John Reno all the way from Panama for his second Mayans, and we’ve got guest appearances from a few special faces like Paul Roush, Roger Jokela and a couple surprise artists we’ll be naming at a later date. Here’s your chance to see each of the week 2 artists in a laid back island format for a little taste of what’s to come for the next next week.

Monday February 2- Field Trip to Happy Island Bar at Secret Beach and Crab Races
11am-5pm- Monday we'll load the carts up with beer and bathing suits and spend the day chilling in knee deep water in paradise at our host bar Happy Island and Secret Beach! Secret Beach is one of the most beautiful hidden gems on the island and it makes for an incredible day of doing absolutely nothing but drinking and getting to know your fellow Mayans!
1-4pm- We’ll feature the music of our friend and local artist Brent Butcher for the afternoon. This is a totally laid back show and afternoon.
6-9pm - Monday evening we’ve got a private Crab Race special for our group at Nauti Crab. You’ve just gotta see this to believe it! It’ll be a nice change of pace from the music and Rob (the owner) puts on a show of his own! (VIP and Passholders Only)
*if you choose to skip the crab race, Monday night will be open on the schedule and you’ll have the opportunity to support the artists all around town.

Tuesday February 3- Boca Del Rio Shows and free night
11am-2pm- We’ll start the day on the Boca Del Rio Strip where you’ll have your choice of two vibes…Wayo’s or Overseas Bar. Pick your perfect backdrop and our songwriter duo’s will be playing all afternoon! Both venues are within walking distance if you decide you want a change of scenery. (VIP and Passholders only)
2:30-4:30pm - Mike Nash will be keeping the afternoon party going at Nauti Crab!
Tuesday night will be open on the schedule, you’ll have the opportunity to make your own plans. Hit that restaurant you’ve heard about, grab a group of new friends and go bar hopping, or just take a mid-festival break and enjoy your vacation!

Wednesday February 4- Take a vacation from your vacation and Evening Showcases!
Wednesday daytime is completely yours! Check out that restaurant you’ve been hearing about, book a dive/snorkel or fishing trip, head back to spend the day at one of your favorite spots, head to Tranquility Bay for the day…there is so much to do and see on the island outside of our festival that we want to give you an entire day to do what you want to do!
7-9:30pm- Wednesday night we’ll return to the Sunbreeze Bluewater Stage for artist showcases hosted by Mike Nash.

Thursday February 5- Group Field Trip to Caye Caulker, Mike Nash Show & El Patti at El Patio
10am-5pm- Now that you'll have a good feel for what Ambergris Caye and San Pedro are all about, it's time to go island hopping! We'll head out Thursday by water taxi to visit San Pedro's much more laid back neighbor island of Caye Caulker! (the private ferry is for VIP only, but passholders can take the public ferry-there is also a private Pirate Catamaran available for purchase here that can be added to any package)
Picture a much slower vibe than San Pedro. Very few golf carts on Caulker-in fact, you can walk the entire 5 blocks long by 2 blocks wide island in a few minutes-but there's still plenty to do here on our day trip. You can hand feed the tarpon, search for sea horses at the sea horse preserve and even hand feed stingray's; or just “park up at The Lizard” and drink the day away with music by Mike Nash and other artists all afternoon! Grab a fresh grilled lobster, get in some souvenir shopping, or just enjoy the laid back vibe!
1-4pm - Mike Nash and Friends at The Lazy Lizard Stage (open to all)
4pm-Pirates private Catamaran leaves for San Pedro (purchase necessary)
4:30pm- VIP private ferry leaves for San Pedro (included in VIP packages)
5pm- The last public ferry leaves for San Pedro (all public and pass holders)
Thursday night we will return to San Pedro just in time for a special dinner show at one of our favorite spots, El Patio (dinner not included) within walking distance (ahem…stumbling distance) of the host and surrounding hotels. We’ll get things started with a local Mayan Flutist at 7pm during dinner.
8-9:30pm- “Patti at El Patio” - We couldn’t resist the opportunity to have a dinner show with our own John Patti at El Patio so you know this evening is going to be a blast! (VIP and Passholders only)

Friday February 6- Daytime Showcase & Grand Finale Party
Friday you can choose to spend your final afternoon chillaxing in the pool and enjoying a much needed final day of rest. VIP’s are welcome to join us at the host hotel grounds for a laid back afternoon, or you’re free to squeeze in a last visit to your favorite spot for one more drink…it’s your last day of vacation so spend it how you want!
There will be an afternoon performance in town if you prefer to spend your last day partying! (details coming soon!)
7-9pm- Friday night you’ll be treated to one final show at Sunbreeze Bluewater Stage with a special surprise we’re brewing up…stay tuned!
This will be the perfect ending to a perfect week as you say goodbye to your new friends and the island and we go out with a bang!

Saturday February 7: End of week 2 and start of week 3
Returning home: If you are leaving the expedition Saturday, you will cross the street to the airport where you'll take the quick 15 minute hop flight (included) back to Belize City for your return flight to the U.S.. Most US flights don't leave until at least 1pm or later, so you'll have plenty of time to grab lunch or a few more vacation drinks at the airport. You do have an option to stay longer at our group hotel rate if you find a cheaper U.S. flight later in the week, in which case we will book your hop flight whenever needed. Just let us know!
Sticking around? There’s no need to rush off! If you’re not ready to end your vacation on Saturday, you’re welcome to stay as long as you like! In fact we have quite a few who do! Just let us know if you’ll need to extend your room and we’ll get everything set up for you. Most of our hotels should have availability into the following week and it’s easy to extend your vacation. You might decide to head back to Caye Caulker for a few completely lazy days before going home to the cold? Whatever the case, just shoot us an email (before or after booking your package) at the email address below and we’ll be happy to help you stick around in paradise!
Continuing on with the expedition for week 3 : If you are continuing onward with the expedition for week 3 (inland Belize, Guatemala) we will be flying out of San Pedro together in the early afternoon to head to the hotel in Belize City for Saturday night’s easy welcome party. We know you might need a night off before starting all over again for week 3!

All guests staying at any of our hotels will receive VIP status which comes with access to the host hotel (Sunbreeze) grounds, pool and the shows at the Sunbreeze stage as well as VIP only events. Due to the overwhelming response of the event each year, we have expanded our accommodations to provide more options for our guests. We know that many of our attendees also travel with groups of friends and so we’ve selected several properties which have availability for varying numbers of rooms and bedrooms and are perfect overflow locations that still put you in the heart of everything and measure up to the quality you’ve come to expect from our event. All of our “Mayan Camp” collection properties are conveniently located within the festival event areas or only steps from the host hotel. All guests staying at any of our hotels will receive VIP status which comes with unlimited access to the host hotel grounds and pool and all locations are convenient to the Sunbreeze-Bluewater Main Stage.
Mayan Camp #1- Ramon’s Village

Ramon’s Village is simply breathtaking! One of the nicest and best maintained resorts on the entire island; every detail is covered with this property. If you are looking for a unique “resort style” vacation Ramon’s will most certainly impress. All of the Tahitian styled cottages are nestled throughout tropical gardens of Royal Palms, bougainvillea, lilies, hibiscus and dozens of other types of tropical flora. Surrounded by the plant life are Mayan sculptures that provide a glimpse of the civilization that preceded us in this Caribbean paradise. Once inside our enchanted village, you’ll be in a world of your own choosing. The resort has an 80 foot long lagoon style pool that winds in and out of the entire central property, an on site restaurant and snack bar, lots of sugar sand beachfront and is less than a five minute walk to the host hotel. Caye Hotel San Pedro is a perfect spot for solo travelers, groups of friends, or travelers who are just a bit more budget minded.. We’ve chosen this property because of it’s exceptional value and convenient proximity to the host hotel where many of the shows take place. The Caye is literally two blocks from Sunbreeze and because you’ll be VIP, you’re welcome to come use our pool and grounds at any time! Admittedly the rooms are nothing fancy, but they are very clean and comfortable and they have everything you need for a perfect vacation! The hotel was built new from the ground up in late 2024 so all of the rooms have brand new modern touches and comfy beds. It is a great spot in the middle of it all that’ll save you some drinking money and you won’t be spending much time in the rooms anyway!

Sunbreeze Suites is the sister property to our host hotel. It is located approximately a ten minute easy walk up the beach (five minutes by golf cart). This boutique property is in a great location in the heart of it all, with restaurants and shopping just steps away. It features all one-bedroom suites with a separate living room area/dining area and full kitchens. There is a restaurant and small bar on site as well as a nice plunge pool. The property has a total of 20 rooms of which our group takes over half. Sunbreeze Suites is a wonderful location within walking distance of the host hotel and also many of our music venues and camps just to the north.

Blue Tang has a total of nine one bedroom suites which include a living area and kitchen. This property is a perfect location in the heart of the festival, and though they do not have an onsite restaurant/bar, they do include continental breakfast and have a beautiful private pool area. Blue Tang is also only steps from Palapa Bar and many other dining options and bars along the beach strip where many of our music shows will take place. It is about a ten minute golf cart ride from the host hotel. With only nine suites, it’s a great spot to book with your friends!
